Jorge Cruise is an author and has some pretty impressive qualifications behind him including that of a fitness expert who has graduated out of the American College of Sports Medicine and who has also attended the American Council on Exercise.

All these facts should make you want to learn more about The Belly Fat Cure by Jorge Cruise. In this plan, the author outlines his program that is designed especially to aid people in different ways. One piece of help that you will get from following The Belly Fat Cure is that it teaches you how to reduce all the stored up fat in your belly and within a week of using the methods described in this book, it is possible that you can reduce as much as between four and nine pounds of fat.

Pros and Cons to the Belly Fat Cure

PROS:

Inexpensive: Although the book retails for about $19.99, I bought it for $13.99. I’m sure you can find it around this price on Amazon. Why should losing weight and being healthy have to cost so much?

It’s Simple: If you’re one of those people who like to get to the point quickly, you’ll love this book. The beginning chapters dive quickly into the why and how of this the program so you can get started as soon as you can get to the grocery store; no long drawn out e-books that you have to download and print or 6-week programs you need to attend.  I read all the  important stuff in less than an hour and was able to get started right away. You print out a easy to fill out sheet everyday to keep track of your carb/sugar intake.

Good selection of recipes: There are menu plans for 5 different type of eaters. As I glanced through the book what first intrigued me was the abundance of mouth-watering pictures of meals along with recipes. Almost every recipe looked delicious and was something that I’d enjoy making and eating. I really like to eat good food. I don’t want to munch on veggies all day or restrict my diet to the point that I am feeling deprived all the time.

CONS:

Doesn’t offer enough micronutrients and phyto-chemicals: At one time I was a proponent of the Belly Fat Diet and that is why I have information listed on this website. However, with further research and study, I believe that Dr. Fuhrman’s Eat for Health and Eat to Live Program offers a superior program for weight loss, optimal health and losing stubborn fat.  The Belly Fat Diet includes high percentages of protein and fats, but discourages fruits and includes limited amounts of micronutrient foods.  It also does not have a meal plan for vegetarians or those who want to include more fruites and vegetables in their diet. These recipes may help with reducing belly fat, but may not promote long term health. I just want to encourage you to take a look at the Eat for Health eating program as a better alternative. Please read my article, Why You Should Become a Nutritarian and please watch the video on the right.

No menu plan for vegetarians: Jorge does give some suggestions for vegetarians meals but did not create a full week menu plan with recipes. You could substitute the meat products for veggie based products.

Promotes the eating of a lot of bread, meat and cheese: Although Jorge does suggest lean meats, I found myself eating more bread and meat that usual and I rarely eat cheese at all. If you’re not use to this you’ll want to adjust meals accordingly. Truth About Abs Program discourages eating lots of wheat products.

No shopping list for the menus: Well there wasn’t one in the book, so I created my one and posted them on this site for your use. That was a big drawback, sifting through recipes and then having to write down the ingredients.

Eat limited amounts of fruit. Although fruit is healthy it is still full of natural sugar and  too much of it will cause weight gain according to Jorge. If you are a huge fruit eater you’ll feel a little restricted.

Sugar Free Foods: I’m not sure if this is good or bad, however, Jorge promotes a variety of sugar-free foods which use either stevia or xylitol as sweeteners. These are both natural and safe, however, xylitol in large amounts may cause gas
