How Christian Affirmations Create Positive Change
I listen to Christian affirmations on a regular basis, while dozing off to sleep, if I wake up during the night, while driving my car, or even as background music while I work. Unlike reading a self-help book or watching a program for knowledge or information, affirmations work below the surface of the conscious mind, thinking, or logic.
As these positive messages infiltrate that unconscious part of you, they begin to have a transformative effect on your spirit or inner being by uprooting or displacing your erroneous thoughts and limiting beliefs with more powerful messages of faith, hope, and trust. These changes can take place without us even realizing it, just as taking a daily vitamin or supplement can affect one or more aspect of good health. It just happens. With consistent use, you just begin to think better and those positive thoughts attract more uplifting thoughts and these faith-filled entities begin to affect and alter the world around you. Just as Jesus said, “As a man thinks in his heart, so his he.”
So often we try to change ourselves by filling our minds with new information and that is good. We try changing our bad habits and unhealthy lifestyles through mere will power or self-discipline. However, the minute we relax and put our guard down, we tend to revert back to our old self or ways because that’s who we really are. If we want true change, it must be at a celluar, a spiritual level, at the core of who we are and not just an attempt to change behaviors or actions. That’s just a temporary fix.
By listening to positive affirmations over and over again, or any other types of uplifting messages be it the Bible on Cd or inspirational sermons, we affect change within ourselves, by literally becoming that which we meditate on. Not as a matter of the will, but because of a transformation of the heart and a cleansing and renewing of the mind. The best part is that it takes no more effort than pushing the play button on your CD player or Ipod. You don’t even need to concentrate or listen intently. Yet studies prove, with regular and consistent use the messages become a part of us.
